Discovery Bay sank Legal Head 3-0 (Ethan Squires 2, Tita Chou). Fun and sunshine for Club Tropicana as they forced out Revolution 4-0 with Steph Bafa getting 2. Joost (pronounced Joast) Opstal and Kyle Wagner with one each. Wancahi Spartans butchered and pillaged Mes for seven thanks to a Jorginho hat-trick, Dan Barrie brace, Ali Thompson and Sam Ogden.
KCC Cavaliers (Shehreyar Piracha, Stefan Antonic, Krish Sadhwani, Gabriel Ho, Thomas Wiggers and William Smith) gallantly outfought Dong Feng 6-3 (Li Yong Sen hat-trick). Scottish Stags hoofed Vikings 2-0 with a goal apiece from Tommy Bartles and Brent Sanson. HK Krauts didn’t need penalties to oust KCC Royals (Raphael Bouchet) 4-1 with solitary strikes from Sascha Cohrs, Jan Lommer, Patrick Bez and Simon Ranke. Goodfellas were good against Samurai Blue but needed pens after a 2-2 draw with Sam Millar getting both the Fella goals and Limbu Rishi Hang getting the Blue two.
OSM may be old but still tasted success against Corinthians (Ben Usmar) 6-1 thanks to doubles from Philipp Meurers and James Chambers as well as singles from Tom Abbott and Ben Thomson. Bants won a playful and friendly exchange against AIC on pens after the score finished 2-2 at full time, Tom Hales netting both for Bants. (Note: SCAA received all the plaudits as a new facility which can hopefully be used by the legal league more next season). Stray Dogs knocked BOC out, (who? who? who? who?) thanks to a Bruce Mak goal in a one nil win. Barbarians won an ironically civilized encounter with Dragon Valley 2-1 thanks to a brace from ex-pro Ngue Paul Olivier, with Oscar Remington getting the DV goal. Shooters fired two past HKZJ via the boots of Yohei Nakao and Tsuyoshi Iida.
J-Leaguers and Wanchai Wolves also progressed after forfeits by Shui Wei and San P’s respectively. The cup resumes in July for some heated contests.
