WEEK 1: A new season 2022-2023 kicks-off for all teams this weekend with all 3 divisions under way.  In Division One newly promoted Wanchai Wolves hammered Soho Spartans 6-0 at the Valley. Adam Boulanger getting a brace for the Wolves with good finishing in 2nd half being the difference said manager Justin Hatherly.

The other promoted team Stray Dogs found life a bit harder in Div 1 but got their first point with a 1-1 draw against Corinthians in a heated battle. Leo Mimasu scored from the spot to put the Dogs ahead before Axyl Clarkson scored late in the game with a free kick. Goodfellas continued their good start to season with a gripping 3-3 draw against Club Topricana. Tropics new recruit Paul Crompton showing age doesn’t matter bagged in a hattrick for Tropics but this wasn’t enough to secure the win with manager Stuart Pang getting on the goal sheet for the fellas.  Wanchai Spartans started off their campaign in style with an emphatic 4-0 win over HK Krauts. Oli Baijings scoring a hattrick to secure the win at the Valley. On Monday night the KCC Cavaliers secured their second win on the trot with a 3-1 victory over HK Krauts at Kings Park with goals from Stefan Antonic, Nikhil Narwani and Shehreyar Piracha. Manager Chris DeLagiasia was happy with his team performance but said the Krauts finished the game stronger.

In Division 2 Old Speckled Men continued their winning streak with hard fought 4-2 win against Samurai Blue with James Chamber getting a brace.  OSM picked up from last week's performance, starting well and grabbing an early goal from a corner which was recycled into the box and the ball dropped kindly to Danny Carroll.  Samurai Blue had some good movement and it wasn’t long before they equalise. Josh Carubia, on his second OSM appearance, calmly slotting from just inside the box to restore the lead. After the break Samurai Blue equalised from Younes Hundass.  However, OSM re-established their 2 goal lead when a shot at the keeper was parried into the path of Chambers to notch his second of the game.  Elsewhere in Div 2 Barbarians smashed Legal Head 5-1 however the game was much closer than the score line indicated mentioned league steward Simon Cleeves from a injury plagued Legal Head team. San Pellgrinos and Bants played an enthralling 0-0 draw while Shooters secured a 4-3 victory against newly promoted Sampdoria with Yohei Nakao scoring a brace.

In Division 3 HK Vikings Oscar Hansen had his scoring boots on with a fine hattrick to beat newcomers Laguna 4-2. AS Dragons and Waterloo Warriors played out a 1-1 draw while Dong Feng Express steamrolled V United in a 5-0 thrashing while newbies Comrade where unable to field a team against BOCs after their 3-1 loss to Vikings the previous week.
