Division One Match reports

Wanchai Spartans 1 Club Tropicana 1.

Spartans scorer: Oli Baijings. Not our best day yesterday, but full credit goes to Club Trop who were well up for it and will be disappointed with the result. They will definitely take a few scalps this season. Well played.

Ref: too card happy for both sides. 2/5

Pretty much agree with this and always a good game against Spartans. We could have been 2 up before we gave away one free kick too many which we were punished for.

Ref; 3/5 - not too bad but was card happy Tropics Scorer: Kyle Wagner

KCC Cavaliers 2-2 Goodfellas

After having dominated much of the first half and creating most of the chances Cavs were caught off guard from a great through ball that Goodfellas scored and took the lead. However a minute later Cavs put extra bodies forward and got the equaliser.

The second half started the same as the first with Cavs building momentum and putting pressure. Finally were rewarded with a penalty but to have it unluckily bounce off the post. However the game saw another goal finally and Cavs took the lead. But 3 points were not meant to be as Goodfellas found their equaliser with a header from a dangerous whipped free kick. Clean match with not much problems, good luck for the rest of your session Goodfellas

Goal scorers: George Yang, Limbu Aubahang Ref: 3/5, missed some easy calls

Scorers Andy Lee, Jack Facemyer

After some early sparring KCC threatening on occasions, we went ahead after a good move. KCC the. managed to score immediately after our goal which was disappointing. KCC came out at us at the beginning of the second half and went 2-1 from a corner after missing a penalty just before. We rallied and managed to grab an equaliser with about 10 to go. KCC threw the kitchen sink but we were able to  hold on and even had a couple of chances to steal the win.

Ref 1.5/5. Too lazy to blow his whistle for restarts one of which led to the penalty for KCC as we weren’t ready. Other just quite frustrating / lazy calls. Well played KCC good team / play nice football, good luck for the rest of the season

Soho 1-1 Corinthians

A fair result on the whole, in a competitive though often scrappy game.

Cors started much stronger and took an early lead, Sohos got back into the game but struggled in the final third. A few chances for both teams in the 2nd half as we went down to the bare bones with a few injuries. Soho finally equalised in the closing stages from a tidy finish after a through ball from a free kick.

Goal: Mike Bromley Ref: 3/5 A few random calls but nothing too much to complain about from our side

We started off well and took a deserved lead after a smart finish from a cross. Sohos reacted well and looked dangerous without creating too many obvious opportunities.

Second half we again started on top and really should have sealed the game. Sohos piled the pressure on for the last 15 minutes and eventually equalised with a well worked free kicks with just two minutes remaining.

Overall, another frustrating result for us after winning for almost the whole game but sohos did enough to deserve a goal.

Goal George Moon  Ref 1/5 egomaniac

Stray Dogs 0-3 JLeaguers

JL entered the game with high press and capitalized the first goal on Stray Dog's small mistake. Scored the second by set piece and ended 2-0 af half. 2nd half was opened up with long balls and counters by both sides. Stary Dogs made several chances but we managed to keep the clean sheet and had the third in the end.

Good game Stray Dogs and good luck for the rest of the season.

Scorer: Daichi Okamoto 2, Shota Sengoku 1 Ref: 4/5 All the yellow cards were reasonable with no argument.

JL came well prepared for the game and scored an early goal with a well taken finish. After that the opposition had the better of possession and was rewarded with their second goal from a free kick. Stray Dogs fought hard second half with a few chances, but JL’s keeper was well on form on the night. Eventually JL got their third goal from a break and the game ended 3-0 to the very organised side.

Cheers for the game, best of luck for the rest of the season. Ref 4/5

Wanchai Wolves 2-0 Krauts

A competitive game, but a generally strong performance by Wolves.  1-0 before half time with a second goal of the season contender from Wolves talisman Adam Boulanger.  A second goal for the Wolves late in the second half sealed the win.

Ref 1/5 very questionable calls by the ref and linesman, particularly on offside.  Scorers for Wolves: Adam Boulanger x2

Even match with little chances for both teams. Lucky 35-yards strike by the wolves in the 2nd quarter. Little to report about after, 2-0 in the 80th minute was secondary.

Well played Wolves, best of luck for the rest of the season.

Refs 5/5 - Definitely seeing an improvement in ref's performance this season. Way more composed.

Stags 5-1 Eagles

Another good club derby which was closer than the score line suggested. We got a well worked goal in the first 5 mins but eagles got one back to make it 1-1 at HT. Grabbed another early in the 2nd half which swung the game. Last 3 goals pretty scrappy.

Scorers: B. Ortega, M. Winter, H. Sinieri, S. Lang, R. Berry Ref 3/5

Eagles goal: Sam Wolstenholme

Balance of play was pretty close in a low standard game. Stags took their chances when we made mistakes and we didn’t take ours. Refs 0/5 - had a shocker

Division Two Match reports

Samp HK- Samurai Blu 4-2

Goals: Sissoko 2, Vastola, Lucchini Ref 2/5

Goals: Younes dhundass, Thomas bombardieri Refs 3/5

Revo 6 - Legal Head 2.

We went ahead just before the first drinks break when Liam Saville scored. A goalkeeping howler let the Head back in the game - which seemed to wake us up with two Nick Chew goals before half time. Second half saw us score three more - Nick getting his hattrick, Chris Field getting our 5th and Liam getting his second with 10 mins to go. Legal Head played a fair game and kept going til the end - getting a consolation goal at the death. Cheers for the game

Scorer Areeb Nadeem x2 Always a pleasure playing Revolution Ref  4/5

Barbarians 2 - S Pellegrinos 1

Good game boys! Good luck for the rest of the season.

Stanley Thijjsen 2 Ref : 3/5

Thanks Theo, tight game indeed. San Ps scorer Myles Galvin, refs 3/5

Bants 2-2 Shooters

Scorers: Jonathan Irving, Tom Rogerson

Quite a close game. Irving opened the scoring for us with a left foot rocket from the edge of the box. Shooters scored a free kick from 30 yards out by their impressive number 10. Tom Rogerson scored a great volley in the second half to put us 2-1 up. We had a couple more chances to seal the game but Shooters scored with 5 mins to go with their second shot of the game.

Ref: 3/5. Ref was good. Linos rubbish

Shooters scorer:

Yohei Nakao, Junpei Sato

Bants had great intensity into the game, creating multiple opportunities. They scored twice but both times shooters came back with two set pieces.

3/5. Managed the match overall but some foul calls are suspicious

KCC Royals 2 - 4 OSM.

Full Report:  Despite a few Covid withdrawals hampering preparations, the desire to bounce back from a humbling defeat last time out meant OSM turned up to Kings Park on Monday night focused on getting a victory.  We started strongly, pressing the KCC defence in possession and this created 2-3 promising situations; unfortunately, situations that we spurned.  Elsewhere, good wing play was getting us in and around the box.  At the same time, KCC were dangerous with their pacy wingers, although most through balls at this time were collected by our GK.  The breakthrough arrived around 20mins in, with Josh Carubia getting the ball on the dead ball line, approaching the GK (who'd already made 3-4 saves from us!) and giving him the eyes before firing in at the near post.  About 10mins before half time we doubled our lead.  This time, from the right, a cross was deflected out to Matt Bowman on the edge of the box.  He took one touch and struck it top bins, just inside the GK's top-left corner.  As half time blew we felt deserving of our lead, but knew there was more work to do.

It seemed like KCC had made 3-4 subs for the second half and they started with more urgency.  Soon into the second half, they cut the deficit with a rapid ball and run in behind our defence that was then finished unerringly by the striker.  Nothing any of our defenders could do to keep up with him.  However, we regrouped and restored our 2-goal lead midway through the half when a set piece sent over from deep put Nathan Gibbon in behind the defence, before picking out a teammate for a strike.  That was blocked, but in the process, Liam Kirrane reacted and swiveled to volley past the keeper.  The game became a bit more broken as we moved into the final 15mins, with both keepers being called upon to make 1-2 good saves each.  But, we grabbed our fourth when Carubia, who had run and probed all game, found his way clean through on-goal after his own blocked/deflected pass and cooly finished.  There was still time for another goal, KCC finishing a move from their right with 4mins to go.  We saw it through and was glad for the Monday Night win.

Competitive and well-fought game from all on the pitch.  Cheers KCC, see you later in the season.

Scorers: Josh Carubia x2, Matt Bowman and Liam Kirrane.

Ref 4/5 - nothing much to handle, both teams played fairly and ref had a decent night.

A deserved win for OSM. KCC scorers: Shu Kitamura, Jonathan Yin. Ref 4/5. Well played OSM

A slightly more in-depth report than mine Kieran…. Very detailed and top marks for accuracy. I only remember chasing your forwards and picking the ball out of the back of the net

Division Three Match reports

AS Dragon 3 - 0 Dong Feng

Scorers: Max Remington (2), Amal Perera

It finally felt like Dragons got their season underway earlier (we finally found our shooting boots that had been sorely missing these last couple weeks!!!!!!)…… so it was nice to put last weeks embarrassment of 10 players firmly behind us with a win today. Well played Dong Feng, and wish you well for the rest of your season.

Ref 5/5 Same guy as last week. Absolutely no complaints. If only more were like him

Cheers Ed, send my regards to Jeffrey pls, hope his ankle is alright

BOCs 0 - 0 Waterloo warriors

Hot game at 1pm with both teams only having 10 men to start. Tight game with very few chances. BOCs could have stole it in the end but it was not to be. Good game played in great spirit. Thanks for the game

very close game but both teams failed to score. Thank you and well played. Good luck in your season.

Ref 4/5 good game from the ref.

Laguna City 3-1 V United

Scorers: Brayden Lisboa, Jaarz Limbu, Hongfei Guan

A tight first half which was fairly even between the two teams. Shortly into the second half LCFC were able to capitalise on an attack and score. V United scored after a defending mistake.

Wishing V united good luck for their future games.

Ref: 4/5 No mistakes and controlled the game well. However some questionable calls from the linesman

Scorer : MOHAMED ABDUL KADER, Noohu Mubasheer

Ref : 3/5 Linesmen eye sight need to improved

Newteam 1 - 1 HK Vikings

Goals: Arthur Roiret x 1

Newteam took the advantage in the first half. Attack from a left side and crossed to the second post for our winger to score.

HK Vikings came back in the second half. They managed to score from a free kick long ball. In a indecisive end of game, both could have scored, newteam missed 2 big opportunities but it ended with a draw.

Thanks for the game and good luck for the rest of the season to HK Vikings.

Refs: 2/5. Took bad decisions, should have controlled more the game in second half called faults when it was necessary.

Goals: Kristian H Kristensen

Another hot day in the boiling pot called Happy Valley. Vikings started off extremely shaky with too many individual mistakes all around the pitch, leading 1st half to end 1-0 to Newteam. Vikings managed to bring a bit more structure to their game during 2nd half, securing the equaliser. All in all, a draw where Newteam had deserved the win. Thanks to Newteam and best luck for the rest of the season.

Refs: 3/5

Legends League O35s Match reports

DBFC 4-2 BTDT

Well played BTDT. A close game ~ we just couldn't pull away from you guys

USRC 1911 3-2 KCC Monarchs.

USRC were coasting 3-0 before KCC launched a strong comeback. Close game made all the more interesting by our new crazy goalkeeper who thinks he’s Ederson’s understudy.

Thanks for the game USRC. We started a bit sluggish and hard to come back from 3 goals - we tried and make it more interesting in the second half with a couple of goals finally getting though the goalie and the posts…Great intense game and well done. See you in a few weeks.

Spartans Masters 3-2 HKFC Vets

HKFC battled really well being a man down midway through the first half and up their game. We scraped with a narrow win at the end.
