San Pellegrinos

San Pellegrinos

The San Pellegrinos were originally formed as a social 5-a side team by Cyrus Hendry in the summer of 2009. The team name comes from Cyrus turning up at one of the friendly matches with a bottle of San Pellegrino, with shouts of 'is Watsons not good enough for you poncy w+++er'. That was enough to make Cyrus formally call his team the San Pellegrinos....The team gradually grew into an 11-side team, and in the 2010-2011 season, the San P's played over 20 friendly matches, achieving some interesting results. As the season went on, the San P's decided to step it up and enter a league. The Legal League was by far and away the best league to join, and luckily we had the support of people like Andy Blank and Henry Vera. The squad is very much made up of good mates and mates of mates- and that's the way we will keep it. We all enjoy playing footy a lot, having beers post games, and want to give it a good nudge this season.
